Miser illuminates circus ring
For 10 shows per week, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey star John Miser will get shot from a cannon during fire. MiserBrian Miser works the most popular stunt on the planet -- literally. Among the headliners from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus "Fully Billed" show, he's referred to as "A Persons Fuse" and will get shot from a canon that's made to resemble a humongous crossbow. To include just a little twist towards the act, he is doing this during fire.
Once captivated, he's shot over the arena, does a forward switch up, arrives at an enormous air cushion after which walks around a little, still burning, before being doused. He's in flames for around 18-22 seconds, throughout which period he or she must hold his breath. Miser states he's the first one to perform the cannonball act during fire, getting began in 2003. Although the "Human Fuse" appears like a film stunt, Miser states he did their own research and produced his gear themself, selecting a higher-tech fabric known as Carbonex. "I recieve about 150 shots and burns from one suit," he states. At 10 shows per week, that's about 3 to 4 several weeks prior to the material begins getting brittle and showing holes. He's already carried out the stunt a lot more than 250 occasions this season and states he needs to get it done 480 more occasions about the tour with the finish of 2012. Indiana-born Miser discovered a talent for acrobatics while very young and grew to become a flying trapeze artist before switching to human cannonball. "I like this stunt and Let me carry on doing it as being lengthy when i can," states Miser, 47. "I have been carrying out appropriately for 3 decades and my body system is beginning to feel some pains and aches.Inch He states he's constantly considering new stunt ideas, but concedes, "I am getting a difficult time topping that one."
